About Moi

My name is Christopher J. Barnaby and I amsometimes play life as an artist.

I have been involved in the active production of art since I was 4 years old producing art for close to 30 years.

I have had the opportunity to study, but as it is with most of my life’s passions I have primarily been taught by personal direct practical experience. I was given my first computer at the age of 13 and quickly learned programming. I wrote several small art based programs seeing the potential that computer art has. One of the programs I exhibited as part of my Higher School Certificate in 1986. I went on to study in other higher education facilities, integrating where I could, the connection I perceive with the spiritual via the digital world.

I have been creating digital art for the last 21 years. Up until 6 years ago I actively created and destroyed my digital art as I could see no way to really output the works in a way that was meaningful for myself. I was very reluctant to show my works as I created solely for myself. At the urging of friends I started to place my works on the internet for all to view. Previous to my online exhibiting I had web sites dedicated to my philosophies and beliefs. It was a natural progression to expose my art as well. I have been exhibiting online now since 1997 and have had many private shows.

I sell works worldwide appealing to a broad scope of humanity. I have exhibited in the 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 International Digital Art Awards which have been travelling Australia and the U.S.A.

My works have appeared in magazines including Digital Photography and Design and as a cover for the
The Heffter Review in the U.S.A.

For the past seven years I have been the curator of the worlds largest online library of psychedelic art, Erowids, Visionary Arts Vaults.

I primarily create my work for self pleasure as I must create beauty to express my experiences. For me it is an added joy if someone else shares the appreciation for something I have created.
